Rocking Horse
By Julia A. Keirns

I have a wooden rocking horse
That sits beside my bed
His eyes are blue
His mane is brown
The saddle is all red.
Rocking horse, rocking horse
Take me far away
Upon your back I’ll sit and ride
Forever and a day.
We can travel anywhere
Our minds tell us to go
My rocking horse and I will be
The only ones who know.
Rocking horse, rocking horse
Rocking back and forth
Today I think I’d like to go
See Santa Clause up north.
I have a wooden rocking horse
And on the saddle red
I’ll sit and rock and rock and rock
Until it’s time for bed.

Storybird review – What a fun poem! I like the rhythm of it a lot. You did an excellent job picking words that flow well together in a smooth cadence. Excellent work! Reviewed by RachelPaige
