Barkcamp State Park is located in Southeastern Ohio just off I-70 about 20 miles from the West Virginia State Line. Right at the exit there are gas stations and restaurants, so depending on what type of camping you like to do, you can always hop up to the exit about 5 minutes from the campground.
This is a beautiful park with several camping areas. We stayed in camping area B for pets. The boat dock did not have very much parking area and we had to just park along the side of the road while we were out in the boat. Belmont Lake only allows trolling/electric motors. We were allowed to have our gas motor on the boat but we couldn’t use it. This beautiful lake is surrounded with woods. It is very still and quiet. There were a lot of kayakers fishing on the lake. Be sure to venture back into all the little fingers off the lake as those are the best fishing areas.
